Most pharmaceutical drugs address the symptoms but not the root cause of an illness. The cause, more times than not, is a poor diet over the span of many years. Furthermore, many prescription drugs typically cause side effects, some of which are serious. More drugs are then prescribed for the side effects.

Soon enough, you end up with a medicine cabinet full of drugs that you will stay on indefinitely with no lasting solution in sight.

The medical community commonly prescribes antibiotics to patients with the flu or common cold. This is not a good practice because both are viral infections and not bacterial. Antibiotics offer absolutely no benefit and instead, weaken the immune system at a time when it should be strengthened to fight the virus.

Furthermore, the excessive and indiscriminate use of antibiotics has shown over time to reduce the body’s ability to fight actual bacterial infections. It has even created antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The overuse of

antibiotics also wreaks havoc in our gut flora and causes a decrease in the population of beneficial bacteria. This can lead to an overgrowth of unwanted microorganisms such as Candida.

You might assume that the best way to avoid the flu is to get the flu shot. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There is mounting evidence that the efficiency of the flu vaccine is at best, questionable. There are also many reasons why this toxic cocktail can be much more harmful than the flu itself.

Lastly, we should not fear contracting the flu because our body has the innate ability to fight it off.  A fever is one of our immune system’s natural responses and should not  be suppressed, as long as your temperature does not exceed 107.6° F (42° C).

We have been told that a daily low-dose of aspirin can help prevent heart attacks and strokes. This claim is based on its alleged ability to thin the blood and decrease the formation of dangerous clots.

However, results from the latest large clinical trial show that the benefits are absent. What is not absent is the actual risk of serious internal bleeding in the stomach from its daily use. A safer way to prevent heart attacks and strokes are natural alternatives that include fish oil, pycnogenol and tumeric.
